About FFC
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who, with the Father and Holy Spirit, is fully God -- he died as a ransom for our sins and rose from the dead, just as he promised. (1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
- We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, our authority and standard for living -- a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. (2 Timothy 3:16)
- We believe that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
- We believe that the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Lord and Savior. (John 3:16)
- We believe that those surrendering to Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith and be baptized into Him, having been saved by grace. (Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38)
- We believe that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and exists to save the lost and edify the saved, as witnessed in the ordinances of Baptism and The Lord's Supper. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
- We believe that Jesus Christ will one day return and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
We pledge ourselves, by the help of the Holy Spirit, to follow Jesus Christ as individuals, as families and as a local church assembly; to base our doctrine and the pattern of our lives upon the Word of God alone; to impose no requirements of doctrine or life upon one another beyond what can be plainly demonstrated from Scripture; to allow our consciences to be bound only by the Word and Spirit.
We also pledge to be worshipers of God in private, family and corporate settings; to instruct one another from the Word and to maintain a teachable spirit; to seek to serve God and one another through our spiritual gifts; to meet together regularly for mutual encouragement in our Christian walk; to practice Christian stewardship of our time, talents, and treasures.
We further pledge to be devoted to one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to maintain a humble spirit and to defer to one another in the Lord; to avoid all gossip and to share only good reports about others; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay; to submit ourselves to the discipline and government of the local church assembly; to in all things seek the purity, peace and unity of the church.
We pledge ourselves, finally, to advance the gospel and kingdom of Christ in this world; to be mindful of the church of Christ in every place; to demonstrate the mercy of God through relief of the poor; to seek the salvation of those near and far who still need the Savior; to adorn our profession of faith in Christ with a life of love and obedience that brings praise to our Lord.
